Cartier Ballon Bleu 42 mm W69012Z4 Professionally restored

This watch is a restored timepiece assembled from original Cartier components.

The watch was acquired by our workshop in non-functional condition, as spare parts. At the time of acquisition, the watch did not include its original Cartier Calibre 049 movement (based on ETA 2892-A2).

During the restoration process, a technical decision was made to install a Cartier Calibre 20 movement, based on ETA 2824-2, which was available in our inventory.

Due to the small dimensional difference between the original Calibre 049 (ETA 2892-A2 base) and the ETA 2824-2 architecture, the watch case was carefully adapted to accommodate the installed movement. All work was carried out with a focus on mechanical reliability and functional integrity.

As part of the restoration, the dial was carefully cleaned to remove surface contamination accumulated over time. The cleaning was performed with the aim of preserving the original appearance and legibility of the dial, without repainting or replacement. The case back was also restored. Due to wear and previous damage, the engraving on the case back was partially re-engraved to improve legibility and overall appearance.

The watch is fully functional, keeps time correctly, and has been tested after assembly.

- Original Cartier box

- Official Cartier documentation for the case and dial, confirming their legitimate origin as original spare parts supplied through official channels
